Battle Cry in World War II ... WBC Campaign 2005

Memoir '44 is a unique historical boardgame, which allows players to effectively portray stylized WWII battles. Like its cousin ACW Battle Cry, Memoir '44 WWII games play to a conclusion in an hour or less.

The format for Memoir '44 will be seven rounds, pure swiss. Four rounds will be held from 3 PM to 11 PM Saturday and three rounds from 9AM to 3 PM Sunday (However, it is my hope that the later rounds will only require 1.5 hours each). Each round players play twice against each other, switching sides. Best total medal count for both games wins the match. In the case of a tie, the player with the fewest casualties wins.

Each round will be a new scenario from Days of Wonder. The first six scenarios will be advertised on Days of Wonder web-site in advance of the tournament and the 7th new scenario will be revealed during the WBC Memoir 44 tournament. The current plan is for each scenario to be later in the war than its predecessor - making for an interesting Campaign.

NEW: DAYS OF WONDER will be providing a free WBC Campaigns scenarios booklet to all entrants of its Memoir '44 tournament. In addition, designer Richard Borg and Eric Hautemont will be running giant-scale versions of Bastogne and Sword Beach on Thursday at 3 PM in Ballroom A. These games will each have four players per side and last about one hour. Make a note of it as these attractions were added too late to appear in your program.

Owners of Memoir '44 will need to register on the Days of Wonder site to download the scenarios. However, the rules in every copy of Memoir '44 include a registration number for the owner, so anyone who owns Memoir '44 can download the scenarios.
