Welcome to Ancient Egypt, land of the pyramids.

Tournament Format

Players compete to build the largest pyramids, then suffer the flooding of the Nile and rebuild.

Play will consist of two preliminary heats. All are welcome to play in either or both. Only game winners will advance. There will be no alternates. In the event that we have more than 25 game winners, they will advance to the semi-finals in this order:

a) Players who have won two games
b) Players who won the first heat they played in
c) Players who won the second heat they played in

If less than 25 winners appear for the Semis, they will be evenly spread out amongst as many games as it takes with the extra players seated randomly. All winners in the Semis will advance along with as many runner-ups as necessary to fill a five-player final. Tie-breakers for runner-ups will be:

a) Largest number of pyramids
b) Largest number of building stones
c) Player closest to the Amun-Re

Every attempt will be made to play five-player games at the Heats. All games with less than five participants will have the same provinces removed from play.

The game cannot be taught during the event. You must attend the Tuesday 8 PM demo or learn the game on your own. Jay will, of course, be teaching the game throughout the convention at Cafe Jay in the Ballroom Foyer.
