Why an Auction? Ever since its inception, WBC has been about competition and playing games without the distractions of such things as flea markets and seminars. Why change now? Well, we haven’t. By extending WBC to seven full days and holding the auction during the hours preceding the start of the bulk of the tournaments on Tuesday evening, we get to have our cake and eat it too without detracting from tournaments.

It allows us to provide a service to our members who want to sell or buy long-out-of-print games at what is perhaps the largest gathering of the players of those games on the planet without having to go the eBay route of shipping and sight unseen purchases. What better place to acquire these games than amongst our annual reunion of friends at WBC in an entertaining auction without missing any tournaments?

Staff: In 2009, welcome back auctioneers Bruce Reiff, Ken Gutermuth and Keith Hunsinger and the entire CABS crew for another splendid and entertaining afternoon of buying and selling boardgames.

WBC Keeps Pre-Registration Requirement for Auction Store in 2009. The requirement for pre-registration of Auction Store Items in 2008 proved successful as the number of items only slightly decreased. The administration of the store, however, improved significantly, allowing the staff to enjoy WBC without spending a significant amount of time on administering payouts.  Based on this, pre-registration for the auction store will continue in 2009.  The Auction Store Seller Registration Sheet (download in Excel or PDF) will need to be completed by July 26 and submitted to AuctionStore@boardgamers.org. The Auction Store Administrator will then send you the lot numbers for your Auction Store Items. The lot number should then be entered on your Auction Store Item Sheet (download in Word or PDF) that you bring with you to WBC. Only items listed at $30 or lower may be listed in the Auction store. It is necessary to pre-register all items for the Auction Store by completing and submitting the Auction Store Seller Registration Form (download in Excel or PDF) and Auction Store Item Sheets (download in Word or PDF). A fee of 25 cents per item is due when you deliver the items on-site. Registration Fees must be paid when items are dropped off.

IMPORTANT: Review the details of both the auction and auction store before deciding where to submit your items.

Advance Registration: Sellers must register both their auction and auction store Lots in advance. There is a limit on the number of Lots that will be sold in the Auction. See Auction Seller Information for details on how to register Lots.

Refer to the key for an explanation of abbreviations. Anyone who will be selling items at the auction should review the Auction Seller page. Anyone interested in buying items at the auction should review the Auction Buyer page for policies and procedures.
