10pm!!!!!

That's right, in case you forgot, or more likely just assumed and didn't look at the schedule, Slapshot was moved by the Grand Pooh-Bah to 10pm in order to more closely comply with the WBC rules and regulations. So be it.

Anyway, welcome to the ninth annual Slapshot event. This is my 7th year and the 7th year that this has been the 'unofficial' end to the WBC/Avaloncons. We've increased in attendance every year, but I have the feeling that that particular streak will end this year due to the time and date changes. I hope I'm wrong and you guys show me up. I will say I plan to be extremely lenient this year on letting groups start late. I have no doubt I'll have a handful of you guys show up about 10:30pm in shock that the tourney is underway. I'll simply shorten up the game for those latecomers as long as they can get a full table up.

We'll be using the same rules we have in the past all options except two divisions just come in and sign up and find yourself a table. Keith will begin the reading of the rules shortly after 10pm (and we'll have some new rules this year!) and then we'll begin play. As always please try and bring a copy of the game (or one of the knock offs) as we always seem to be short.

COSTUME CONTEST!!!

This year we'll have our second annual costume contest. Last year was a big hit with lots of people wearing their favorite teams' jersey, a referee's outfit and the 1st place winner a Red Army Hockey Jersey. We plan to do the contest again. Hopefully you guys will be as creative this year and more of you will participate. Pretty much any costume goes hopefully it'll be hockey related. The judging standard will again be whatever tickles my fancy at the time. Prizes will include hockey related memorabilia and possibly tickets to a NHL game!

See you all Saturday night! Go Blue Jackets!!!!
