In Broadhorns! Early Trade on the Mississippi you are a merchant based in St. Louis, financing expeditions down the Mississippi River during the early part of the 19th century. This is a new game from Rio Grande Games. You will acquire a broadhorn (a flatboat) in St. Louis, buy cargo and pick up passengers, travel down the Mississippi to ports to sell your cargo and drop off passengers, sell your broadhorn for salvage, and then return to St. Louis to finance another voyage, all while trying to avoid spoilage of your perishable cargo.
Games will be 4-player, with 3 where necessary. There will be two heats, with the top half of the field advancing (16 if there are more than 32 entrants) into the semifinals (we will skip right to the finals if there are 8 or fewer players). Most wins will advance, with standard WBC tiebreaks.
The designer, James Harmon, is offering a signed copy of the rules cover to the winner.
