HMW BEGINNERS WELCOME:
You may play if you have read the rules, played previously, or participated in a scheduled demonstration. The GM will be available for one hour in Exhibit Annex to teach the game. Be on time. The GM will remain for only 15 minutes if no one is present.

The year is 1775. The American colonies are outraged over new taxes imposed upon them by Great Britain. They begin to stockpile arms and organize militia. On April 18th, militia members ambush a column of 700 British Redcoats ordered to seize stockpiled arms. 273 British soldiers are killed or wounded before they reach Boston.

The American Revolution has begun!

Now you command the armies of the British Redcoats, English Loyalists, German Hessians, American Regulars, Patriots, French Regulars and Native Americans to decide the fate of the Americas. Share the fun in this light and fast paced game!

Single Elimination with a Mulligan round. Initial pairings will be random. Future rounds will be seeded. All rounds except the Final will include the campaign scenario. The Final will be the Quebec scenario. In the event of an odd number for a round, one game will be played as a 3-player game.

OFFICIAL RULES: The official tournament rules in effect will be the interpretation of 1775 rules as set forth on Academy Games website. Copies of these will be available for players who need them prior to the start of the tournament.

PAIRINGS: The specifics of the system follows:

a. All game results and player ratings will be posted and updated as results are reported.

b. Performance in the scenario will include win/loss and margin of victory.

c. If a scenario ends in a tie - both players will roll all of their faction dice - hits will be adjudicated against the opponent dice, fled results will eliminate owning player dice, the player with the last remaining faction die will be declared the winner.

SIDE DETERMINATION: The following procedure will be used to determine sides:

Flip a coin - winner will pick a random faction from the bag and will play that side. The other player will have the opposing faction.

KEEPING NOTES ON GAMES: On the GM provided game record, players should make notes about the distinguishing features of their individual games so that your GM will be able to record the noteworthy events for the WBC tournament report. The more material I receive, the more justice I will be able to do to the tournament players in the report.

A FINAL NOTE: Matches are not being specifically timed (they should be completed in no longer than two hours). In the event that I am not available to rule on disputes, or it happens to be a game I am playing, my assistant GMs - will rule on any disputes, or in extreme cases, adjudications of games. Because of this tournament format, it is in the interest of all players to play as quickly as reasonably possible. Players deemed intentionally stalling will be warned and if necessary their game adjudicated taking into account excessively slow play leading to potential disqualification.

Academy games will provide additional prizes for the top three finishers.
