48 players vied for the championship in Hannibal: Rome vs. Carthage and played 95 games in a double elimination format. Derek Landel went undefeated in the tournament with a perfect 6-0 record.

In the final game, Hannibal made his way to Southern Italy but then proceeded to lose a few battles leaving him vulnerable with very few troops. He was finished off in Rhegium by Nero on turn 3. Carthage soldiered on until turn 9 when with the Province count 10-8 in Rome's favor conceded.
Overall Carthage won 47 games, Rome 44, with 4 games conceded without side assignments.
