VOTING IS OPEN THROUGH JULY 15.
All current members of the BPA may vote regardless
of membership level—including all paid pre-registrants of the
2014 World Boardgaming Championships—except those purchasing one-day
Guest passes. Votes will be recorded in accordance with membership
status as outlined on the membership
page and are weighted appropriately by election officials. Those elected to the BPA Board will serve
three-year terms through the 2017 convention
season. The
new Board will be introduced during the BPA Annual Meeting on Tuesday,
Aug. 5, at 3 p.m. in the Lancaster Showroom at Lancaster Host in
Lancaster, PA. All BPA members are invited
to attend.
In order to vote, use our electronic ballot. The e-mail you supply with your vote must match the e-mail we have on file for you (and will be the e-mail this Notice was sent to). Each member may cast only one ballot, and may vote for up to three (3) individual candidates on that ballot. Multiple ballots from the same e-mail address will be disqualified. The final day to vote is July 15, 2014. In order for your vote to count, you must cast your ballot on the website no later than midnight on July 15, 2014.
For those without internet access, we will accept ballots by United States Post Office Regular Mail. Mail your ballot to: BPA, 7766 Valley View Court, Hickory, NC 28602 in time for delivery by July 15, 2014. Ballots delivered in any other manner will not be considered.
The last day to join the BPA in order to be eligible to vote is July 15—the "Record Date". In order for the Vote to count, a quorum of ten percent (10%) of all members who have joined the BPA as of the Record Date must cast valid ballots on or before the Final Voting Date. We anticipate the Quorum will be approximately 100 voters.
NOTE: Any person may run for election as a Director.
Candidates must comply with the Board’s nomination rules in order
to be placed on the ballot. The three candidates receiving the most
votes will be elected.

[ ] Ken Gutermuth, NC—I am running for re-election to continue to make the WBC the best gaming week of the year. WBC has become a vacation for many families, including my own, and I want to continue to make it a family friendly event that draws the best competition for the games we love. My background in Finance and Business Decision Support allows me to assist in keeping the BPA a strong and viable entity that can continue into the future and provide a great convention for future generations. |

[ ] Tom McCorry, VA—It’s been a nice year off so I am looking forward for the opportunity to again serve my gaming friends and hobby. I am an advocate for keeping the WBC a family-friendly gaming convention that highlights tournament gaming from all genres of board games while providing support for open gaming. I believe working closely with fellow Board members to ensure that the appropriate transition plans are in place for any changes that could occur over the next several years and our convention director has the necessary support from the Board to ensure the best week of gaming each year. |

[ ] Bruce Monnin, OH—I am running for re-election to the BPA Board of Directors because I have a desire to help implement the next facility contract for the World Boardgaming Championships as well as to provide continuity on the Board during the next few years. I will also continue to promote the BPA play-by-email tournaments as a way for members to stay active in our organization throughout the year. My goal is to ensure a balance remains between the fun in the WBC (such as the auction, the Team Tournament and the late night events) and the basic competitive nature of the convention. |

[ ] Stuart Tucker, MD—I’m a professional economist and editor at the World Bank, where I’ve been successful dealing with authoring clients and reading customers, while building and managing an open access knowledge site. My experience in game publishing and book publishing, and prior experience on the BoD, put me in a good position to serve once again. Through wise insight, good organizational sense, knowledge of the gaming community, and judicious action, I have a track record of helping create the BPA and weathering many challenges. I offer my time and support. Lend me your thoughts when you see me at next summer’s convention. |
